Details of Arrangements.
Ukraine and Bulgaria have concluded a long-term security agreement for at least 10 years, which envisages strengthening military support, development of joint defense production and energy cooperation. This was reported in Telegram by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky following a March 30 meeting in Kiev with Bulgarian Prime Minister Andrei Gyurov.
According to Zelensky, the main focus of the agreements is the extension of military support from Bulgaria for Ukraine.
Separate attention was paid by the parties to the development of joint production of weapons on the territory of Ukraine, in particular, unmanned systems. For this purpose, Bulgaria will use the European program Security Action for Europe (SAFE), which allows countries to jointly finance and develop arms production within the framework of defense cooperation.
Bulgaria also confirmed its participation in the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) arms procurement program, which will contribute to strengthening Ukraine's air defense.
In addition, Zelensky stressed that an important part of the agreements was energy cooperation.
"We are working on having an active energy corridor. It is very important for us today. This corridor can amount to about 10 billion m³ per year, which Ukraine can receive. For us it is also security guarantees - energy guarantees," the president wrote.
