According to the Office of Statistics, in 2025 in the Czech Republic dissolved 21.2 thousand marriages - 0.4 thousand more than in 2024. Divorces affected more than 20.3 thousand children. A total of 113.3 thousand people died in the country, the increase from 2024 amounted to 1.1 thousand and came mainly to women.

"In 2025, the population of the Czech Republic increased by 6.3 thousand people and exceeded 10.915 million. International migration led to an increase in population by 42 thousand. people, while natural population growth decreased by 35.7 thousand," the statistics office wrote.

In 2023, 3.665 million children were born in the European Union, the lowest number since 1961, Eurostat said. The average age of women at the birth of their first child rose to 29.8 years.

The UN said in June 2025 that fertility was at record lows in many countries around the world. One in five participants in a survey conducted by the organization admitted that the high cost of living and financial difficulties prevented them from having children.
