Admiral Brad Cooper issued a statement.

The U.S. military has announced significant losses to the Iranian navy during the ongoing Operation Epic Fury.

This is reported by CNN.

Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), issued a statement on the Iranian navy's losses. According to him, US forces have already destroyed 17 Iranian ships.

Among the 17 destroyed units is the pride of the Iranian navy, the country's most advanced submarine, which received a fatal hit and is no longer mission capable.

Cooper said U.S. forces are conducting "pinpoint surgical strikes" against Iran's military targets.

"Simply put, we are focused on shooting at anything that can shoot at us," the admiral said. He added that U.S. forces are effectively "sinking the Iranian navy."

Cooper said Northrop B-2 Spirit and Rockwell B-1 Lancer strategic bombers are being actively employed in the operation.

The commander also noted that Iranian warships have effectively disappeared from the region's key sea routes - the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman.

The era of decades-long terrorization of international shipping by the Iranian regime is over, he said, and the US has now established full control over the region's waterways.

"For decades, the Iranian regime has harassed international shipping. Today, not a single Iranian vessel is in these waters," the official said.
