The President of Ukraine explained what became a hindrance.

The next round of peace talks between Ukraine and the US and Russia is postponed due to the war in Iran. At the same time, Kiev is waiting for good news on prisoner exchange with the aggressor country.

This is reported by Charter97.org citing a statement by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

He noted that today he had a conversation with the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov regarding his communication with representatives of the United States. According to the president, the dialog with the United States continues on a daily basis.

"Right now, because of the situation around Iran, there are not yet the necessary signals for a trilateral meeting. But as soon as the security situation and the general political context allow to continue exactly that, trilateral, diplomatic work, it will be done. Ukraine is ready for this," Zelensky said in a statement

In addition, he thanked representatives of the intelligence service, the Office of the President and all the services involved for taking steps for further prisoner exchanges.

"We are working to bring all our people home from Russian captivity. We hope for good news," the president stressed.

"Suspilne" quoted a source in the Ukrainian delegation as saying today, March 4, that the date and venue of the next round of talks between Ukraine, Russia and the United States have not been determined yet.

"There is no date and venue for the next round of trilateral talks yet," the source said.
