A representative of the Coalition of Political Forces of Iranian Kurdistan said that Kurdish armed groups have launched a military operation on the territory of Iran and have taken positions in the border areas of the country.

Kurdish armed groups, which are based on the territory of Iraq, announced the beginning of a military operation against Iran. This was announced by a representative of the Coalition of Political Forces of Iranian Kurdistan (CPFIK).
Media reports that fighters affiliated with the Party of Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK) began advancing and deploying to combat positions on Iranian territory as early as Monday, March 2. It is reported that the active phase of ground operations started around midnight.
Moving forces near the town of Marivan
According to a Kurdish forces spokesman, the Iranian side evacuated the border town of Marivan on March 3. They began to form defensive lines in the area.
At the same time, PJAK units took up positions in the southern mountainous areas around Marivan in western Iran. Thousands of fighters were allegedly deployed there.
The structure of PJAK's armed units
The PJAK is said to have two main armed structures. These are the YRK units, known as the Eastern Kurdistan Protection Units, and the HPJ - Women's Protection Force.
The representative of the Kurdish forces noted that these units were created on the model of the Kurdish armed formations that operate in Syria.
