"Lukashenko Is Hanging On To One Nail."

The dictator has been tweaking the system to suit himself for too long.

Political scientist Alexander Klaskovsky in an article for "Pozirk" compared Iranian tyranny to the dictatorship created by Lukashenko:

- His architect has long been building the system to suit himself, concentrating in his hands all functions of little or no significance. Other power structures are thin. There is no real political class, no ruling elite (remember Lukashenko's winged phrase: there should be one politician in the country?).

Ideology? A pacifier in the package of loyalty to the leader. Ideologists on their salaries spew nonsense which they themselves do not believe in.

And only a few characters from the state propaganda can be called fanatics (the majority of them are just cynical moneychangers). Lukashenko has now given them an order to kill American imperialism. As we can see, Lukashenko himself has decided to show solidarity with Tehran.

These activities are designed for Moscow and for the pro-governmental part of the internal audience. The risks of angering Trump with pro-Iranian rhetoric are small: he probably doesn't watch BT and doesn't read "sovbelka".

And people from his team working on the Belarusian track are hardly interested in informing the chief about the dirt on the bog autocrat.

The danger for Lukashenko is much more likely to come from the opposite side.

He has built a system that, unlike Iran's, rests on one nail - his own person.
