The decision to admit Russia to the Venice Biennale is "disgusting".

Министр иностранных дел Литвы Кястутис Будрис reacted on social media X to Russia's return to the Venice Biennale for the first time since Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

"It is impossible to go back to business as usual with a murderer and a terrorist. Russia continues its full-scale war against Ukraine, a sovereign state," he wrote.

Budris stressed that Russia is shelling and bombing cities almost every day and every night, killing, destroying and terrorizing civilians.

"The Venice Biennale's decision to spread the red carpet in front of Russia's dark cultural diplomacy is disgusting," he added.

It was previously reported that Russia will return to the Venice Biennale for the first time since the start of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
