Kiev Claims 'Russian Handwriting' In Kidnapping Of Ukrainian Cash Collectors In Hungary

Moscow's voice from Budapest is getting louder and louder.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga said about "Russian handwriting of Hungarian provocations" in the context of the kidnapping in Budapest of Ukrainian cash and gold collectors.

According to "European Pravda".

According to the Ukrainian minister, the situation with the seizure of Ukrainian cash collectors by the Hungarian side "has crossed all borders."

"Such actions have nothing to do with law or partnership. This is blatant forceful pressure on Ukrainian citizens," Sibiga emphasized.

He also spoke about the measures taken by the Ukrainian side in connection with the situation.

"Even at night we immediately gave wide publicity to this situation publicly. At the same late time, an official note was sent to the Hungarian side with a demand to immediately release Ukrainian citizens and stop arbitrariness. From the very morning, the acting Charge d'Affaires of Hungary in Ukraine was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine," Sibiga noted.

He emphasized that Ukraine demands "immediate explanations, access of consuls and release of its citizens."

Sibiga also spoke about a coordination meeting at the Foreign Ministry with the participation of all responsible structural units.

The minister also linked this situation to the approaching parliamentary elections in Hungary, as "the Ukrainian topic is increasingly used there as a tool of domestic politics."

"We have seen this more than once. But this time the situation has crossed a dangerous line. More and more often in Budapest's positions one hears not European logic, but familiar Moscow intonations. Moscow's voice from the Hungarian chair is sounding louder and louder. Everyone in Europe from Brussels to every capital should realize this," he stressed.

Sibiga assured that Ukraine will protect its citizens and "will not allow them to be used as an instrument of political manipulation."

"We will not allow to speak to us in the language of ultimatums, blackmail or threats. Ukraine is not a country that can be spoken to in this way. I am convinced that we will be able to solve this story and return our citizens, but what happened will not be hushed up and will not remain without a response, in particular legal, sanctions and international legal," the Foreign Minister summarized.
