Pentagon Chief Reacts To Russia's Transfer Of Intelligence To Iran For Strikes Against U.S. Troops

The US is tracking everything and factoring it into their battle plans.

Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth said he is not concerned about the fact that Iran is receiving intelligence from Russia for strikes on U.S. troop positions.

Hegseth said this in an interview with CBS News.

In the context of media information about intelligence sharing between Russia and Iran, the Pentagon chief noted that US President Donald Trump is "well aware of who is talking to whom."

He also added that the US "tracks everything" and takes it into account in its battle plans.

"The American people can rest assured that their commander-in-chief is well aware of who is talking to whom. And anything that shouldn't happen, whether publicly or through informal channels, is strongly opposed," Hegseth said.

When asked if Russia's involvement puts the U.S. contingent at risk, Hegseth said, "We put others at risk, and that's our job. So we're not worried about that. ... And the only people who need to worry right now are the Iranians who think they're going to live."

Before that, White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt, when asked during an appearance on Fox News about Russia providing intelligence to Iran about U.S. positions, said she could not comment on "intelligence leaked to the press."

"Frankly, whether it happened or not is irrelevant because President Trump and the U.S. military are completely destroying the criminal Iranian terrorist regime," she said.

Lavitt later explained to reporters that she meant that Russia's transfer of intelligence on US assets to Iran "doesn't matter" because "it clearly doesn't affect military operations in Iran because we are totally destroying them."

Reminder, The Washington Post reported that Russia is providing Iran with information on targets for attacks on US troops in the Middle East.
