Belarus Regime Launched Balloons To Help Russian Federation Attack Ukraine

The Ukrainian monitoring channel "eRadar" announced the probable launch of balloons with reflectors from the territory of Belarus to Chernihiv region of Ukraine. This happened on the night of March 5 during another Russian air attack on Ukrainian territory.

Monitors recorded the appearance of the first atypical unmanned aerial vehicles in the sky over Chernihiv region after midnight on March 5. Soon the channel reported that these UAVs are most likely balloons with reflectors.

"It seems that they are entering Ukrainian airspace from the direction of Bragin," the resource specified.

The balloons continued to fly at night, and "eRadar" summarized that "the launch is most likely from the territory of Belarus."

According to a specialist of the monitoring channel "Flagstaff", the balloons were about 10, began to fly into Ukrainian airspace around 01:00-01:10 near Loev.

The wind that night was westerly - from Bragin, Loevo districts to Chernihiv region.

What happened to the balloons and what they were intended for - there is no exact information, but it is assumed that they were sent to counter Ukrainian air defense.

Balloons with corner reflectors are reconnaissance or diversionary aids used to simulate false air targets in order to identify and exhaust the enemy's air defense system. Earlier it was reported that the same tactic is used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
