Kiev called on Europe to condemn "an act of state banditry and racketeering."
Ukraine demands Hungary return gold and money seized during the detention of Ukrainian collectors, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrei Sibiga said in X.
"This money does not belong to Hungary or its government; it belongs to Ukraine's state bank Oschadbank and, therefore, to Ukrainian taxpayers. We demand their immediate return and call on all of Europe to condemn this unprecedented act of state banditry and racketeering. I call on all our European partners to speak out," he wrote.
On March 5, Hungarian authorities detained seven Ukrainian cash collectors.
