Journalist Pavel Dobrovolsky Was Sentenced To Nine Years In Prison

Journalist Pawel Dobrovolsky was sentenced to nine years of imprisonment in a high-security colony. This is reported by "Pozirk".
He was tried under Part 1 of Article 356 of the Criminal Code (Treason against the State). The decision was made by Minsk City Court, the trial was closed.
According to the available information, the charge was related to the professional activities of the journalist. Dobrovolski worked in both Belarusian and foreign media, including the Ukrainian edition NV.ua (before the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine).
Reminder, Pavel Dobrovolski was detained in Minsk on January 22, 2025 - a few months after his return to his homeland.
Pavel left Belarus in the early fall of 2021. According to information on his pages in social networks, after his departure he traveled around the world: he toured a number of European countries, was in Iran, Russia, South American countries. In October 2024 he returned to Minsk.
