Messengers don't work, websites and banking apps don't open.

St. Petersburg followed Moscow in experiencing mobile Internet outages. The blockages began after 6 a.m. on March 9, according to Downdetector data. In total, almost 2,500 complaints were received. Residents write that their messengers do not work, websites and banking applications do not open. There is access only to "white lists," writes The Moscow Times.

The outages coincided in time with the message of the governor of the Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko about the danger of drones and a possible "decrease in the speed of mobile Internet." More than 500 residents of the region complained about the disruptions. After 10 hours, Drozdenko reported on the removal of the threat and one downed drone. Authorities in St. Petersburg itself did not report on mobile Internet restrictions and arrivals.

In Moscow, mobile Internet has been shut down for the fifth day. The service is still recording complaints. At the same time, websites from the "white list", including "Gosuservices", social networks "VKontakte" and "Odnoklassniki", "Yandex" services, marketplaces and resources of government agencies, continue to work.

The day before, the operators Beeline, MegaFon and T2 said that the failures were caused by "external restrictions" to which they had nothing to do. Kommersant's sources in the telecom market said that the operators had received an order to limit mobile Internet in certain areas of the capital.
