Air defenses intercepted it over the city of Gaziantep.
Turkish air defense forces together with NATO systems have intercepted a ballistic missile launched from Iranian territory toward Turkey, the Turkish Defense Ministry reported.
The head of the communications department of the Turkish Presidential Administration Burhanettin Duran said the incident took place in the Shahinbey district of Gaziantep, with no casualties. All relevant agencies, including the Ministry of National Defense, are acting in full coordination, he said. The country's airspace and border defense capabilities are at the highest level.
"We once again strongly urge all parties, especially Iran, to refrain from actions that jeopardize regional security and may endanger civilians," Duran said.
