The Ukrainian military has already regained control over more than 400 square kilometers of territory.

The Ukrainian defence forces are trying to retake the operational initiative at the front. They have already managed to regain control over some territories. This was announced by the commander-in-chief of the AFU Alexander Syrsky.

According to him, for the first time since 2024, when Ukraine conducted the Kursk offensive operation, Ukrainian troops in a month regained control over a larger area of land than the enemy seized in the same time.

In particular, it is noted that the AFU continues the counter-offensive operation in the Alexandrovsky direction.

"Here, the grouping of the AFU has regained control over 285.6 square kilometers for a month. On the whole, since the beginning of the operation, control over more than 400 square kilometers of territory has been restored," the report said.

Glavcom added that at the same time, in many other directions, the AFU is holding back the enemy through active defense and in some places is advancing.

"The Russian aggressor outnumbers the enemy almost threefold, but given our active actions, it is forced to postpone the dates of its planned operations, patch up holes in its defense and redeploy troops from other directions," Syrskyy stressed.

He emphasized that the Ukrainian military is also harassing the enemy on its territory. For example, DeepStrike weapons hit 85 targets in February.

"Not everything is easy, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding their ground, building up their capabilities, analyzing mistakes and working to correct them," the AFU commander-in-chief concluded.
