Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has signed a law that fixes a one-year deferment from mobilization for those who signed Contract 18-25 and served for 12 months.
The press service of the Verkhovna Rada reported this on Monday, March 9.
"4782-IX establishes a 12-month deferment from mobilization for citizens aged 18 to 25 years, who during martial law signed a contract for one year and were dismissed from military service at its end," - stated in the message.
These citizens can be called up for military service during this period with their consent.
On 27 June 2025, the government approved a draft law providing for a one-year deferment from mobilization for volunteers who have completed service under the Contract 18-24 program.
