EU Introduces Tax On Parcels From Belarus

  • 1.04.2026, 8:33

It has become known who will be affected.

July 1, 2026, the European Union will introduce a tax on small parcels from third countries. This applies to parcels from Belarus to the EU countries, reports the telegram channel Infotrans Media Belarus.

The measure will be temporary and will last at least until 2028 - until the launch of a new system of electronic commerce control within the reform of European customs.

The new duty applies to goods worth up to 150 euros - this category accounts for the bulk of orders in online stores.

The main nuance - the fee of three euros will not be charged for the entire parcel as a whole. This means that if one parcel contains goods of different categories or from different sellers, customs may consider them as several separate items for clearance. And each item will have to pay a duty of three euros.

For example, a buyer orders several inexpensive goods from Asia: a T-shirt for 8 euros, headphones for 12 euros and hand cream for 5 euros. The total value of such a parcel is 25 euros.

But the order contains three different categories of goods - clothing, electronics and cosmetics. According to the new rules, each category will be charged separately.

In this case, 9 euros will be added to the cost of the parcel (3 euros for each category). As a result, the purchase will cost 34 euros.
