"Oil Paralysis" In The Baltic: Russia Loses Tens Of Millions A Day

Exports via Ust-Luga and Primorsk have been virtually halted.
Russian oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports through the ports of Ust-Luga and Primorsk on the Baltic Sea were halted today, April 1, due to Ukraine's attacks. The aggressor country is losing tens of millions of dollars every day.
The Finnish Border Guard Service said in a commentary Reuters.
"At the moment, very few tankers are leaving the oil ports of Primorsk and Ust-Luga. We are talking about individual ships," Mikko Hirvi, head of the maritime security department of the Finnish Border Guard Service, told the publication.
As journalists note, in recent years, 40-50 tankers carrying Russian oil and LNG have been passing through the Baltic Sea every week. This halt in Russian oil and LNG exports was the most serious disruption in the modern history of Russia, the world's second-largest oil exporter.
Laura Solanko, senior advisor to the Bank of Finland and an expert on Russian energy markets, said Russia could lose more than $70-75 million a day just because of the halt in oil exports through the Baltic Sea.
She said that before the Ukrainian drone attacks, Russia was exporting more than 2 million barrels of oil and oil products a day through the Baltic.
