  • 10.04.2026, 13:19

Prices for services flew upward.

Inflationary processes in Belarus showed unusual dynamics in March. According to the National Statistics Committee, the overall growth of consumer prices for the month amounted to 0.6%, while the annual rate slowed down to 5.4% (against 5.6% in February). This is where the relatively good news for the economy ends.

The main surprise of the month was a spurt in the category of services, which rose in price by 1.2%. This is far ahead of the traditional growth leader - food products, whose prices increased by only 0.3%. The non-food sector also showed a moderate growth of 0.5%.

In general, since the beginning of 2026, inflation in the country amounted to 1.6%, while the core consumer price index, excluding seasonal fluctuations, rose by 1.3% over the same period.
