Zelensky Suggested That The EU Accept Four More Countries

Europe can develop a strong military capability.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has said that Britain should consider returning to the European Union if the United States decides to withdraw from NATO. He said this on The Rest is Politics podcast, The Telegraph reported.

Zelensky said that in such a development, European security would have to rely on a strengthened European Union, as the existing model would not be enough.

He suggested expanding the EU with a number of countries, including Ukraine, the UK, Turkey and Norway. In his opinion, in such a composition, the association would be able to form a powerful military potential, surpassing Russia's capabilities, and ensure control over sea, air and land space.

The president also emphasized that amid growing threats, Europe should take more responsibility for its own security.

"Europe should first of all think about security - about how to preserve its life, history and independence," Zelensky said.
