Hungary Breaks All-time Record For Election Turnout

By late afternoon, over 74% of voters had cast their ballots.
In Hungary, the turnout in the April 12 elections broke previous records in the country's history. This was reported by Telex.
As of 5 p.m., it reached 74.23%, which corresponds to 5,587,935 votes cast. The previous figure, recorded at 3 p.m., was 54.14%, which was also a record.
The publication recalls previous records. In 2022, for example, the turnout at 5 p.m. in the election was 62.9%. The record turnout at the elections in absolute terms was 73.5% in 2002.
