Donald Tusk congratulated the Hungarian opposition on their election victory.

Hungary's election results show that Europe is not doomed to a corrupt and authoritarian government, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said while on a visit to South Korea.

The Polish prime minister earlier congratulated opposition Tisza party leader Peter Magyar on his victory by phone and wrote on the X platform, "Together again! Great victory, dear friends!" and added "Ruszkik haza!" in Hungarian, meaning "Russians, go home!".

According to Donald Tusk, the Hungarian election results refute claims that our part of Europe is doomed to populist and autocratic governance.

- The whole world is delighted with these election results because they show that there is no inevitable trend. Many feared that this was the time of authoritarian and corrupt regimes in Europe. First Warsaw, later Bucharest, Chisinau and now Budapest... I am glad that this part of Europe shows that we are not doomed to a corrupt and authoritarian government," Donald Tusk said.

According to preliminary data from Hungary's National Electoral Office (after almost 99 percent of the votes were counted), Peter Magyar's opposition Tisza party can count on 138 seats in the 199-seat parliament.

According to previous promises, Peter Magyar will make his first foreign visit to Poland.
