Although the regime has claimed clemency.

Opposition leader and released political prisoner Mikalai Statkevich told in his Telegram channel that in the database of the Interior Ministry he is still a prisoner of IK-13 in Hluboki.

The politician found out about it when he decided to restore his pension.

"The story with my passport, found in SIZO-1, continued. It turned out that it is impossible to restore the pension on it alone - you also need a certificate of release. Moreover, as I was informed, according to the database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, I am still a prisoner in IK-13 in Glubokoe. I had to go to SIZO-1 again to get a release certificate. But there the deputy head for operational work informed me that they could not give me such a certificate, as they "did not release me", and I was taken out of the prison hospital at the pre-trial detention center by a "scheduled convoy". And they gave me my passport and things because they "belong to me"," the opposition leader said.

He mentioned the words of press secretary Natalya Eismont about his release by pardon.

"I remember how one official lady on TV claimed that I was allegedly released in accordance with the "decree on pardon" back in September last year. But who saw that decree... And ladies can be so fickle sometimes. Now I'm completely confused about my current legal status and whereabouts," - writes Statkevich.

We recall that in the evening on February 19, it became known that political prisoner Mikalai Statkevich was released. The opposition leader, as reported by his wife Marina Adamovich, had a stroke, now he's recovering.

September 11, Lukashenko's regime released and expelled 52 prisoners from the country. Mikalai Statkevich was the only one of this group who did not cross the border between Belarus and Lithuania. For some time, the politician could be seen on the images from the cameras at the border, but then he was taken away by masked men in an unknown direction. For a long time it was unknown where he was.

In 2021, Mikalai Statkevich was sentenced to 14 years in a special regime colony for organizing "mass riots."

Since early July 2022, since Mikalai Statkevich started serving his sentence in Gluboka colony, the leader of the Belarusian opposition has been kept in the harshest conditions: kept in solitary confinement in dangerous conditions. It became known that Mikalai Statkevich had contracted COVID-19 several times during his imprisonment.
