Belarusians Working At NPP "Bushehr" Were Evacuated From Iran

Iranian authorities reported strikes on the station.

Russia has completed the evacuation of employees of the Bushehr NPP from Iran. According to the Russian Consulate General in Isfahan, the operation for the urgent removal of specialists lasted several days and was completed on the morning of April 15.

The evacuees included 81 citizens of Belarus, as well as specialists from other countries: 27 citizens of Tajikistan, 4 from Armenia, 3 from Uzbekistan, one each from Kazakhstan and Ukraine.

On April 4, Iranian authorities and state media reported that a shell hit the fence of the Bushehr nuclear power plant. According to them, a security officer, a citizen of the country, was killed in the incident. It was also reported that shrapnel and blast wave damaged one of the buildings on the territory of the plant, but the key facilities of the NPP were not damaged, IRNA reported.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed that they were notified by the Iranian side about the incident. At the same time, according to the agency, there was no increase in radiation levels after the alleged attack.
