Iran's Armed Forces Chief Says Army Ready To Fight "to Its Last Breath"

Amir Khatami pledged to defend the country's independence and security "on land, in the air and at sea."

The Iranian military is ready to confront the enemy to the last breath, Iranian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Amir Khatami said on the occasion of Iran Army Day, Al Jazeera reported.

"Our forces will confront the enemy to the last breath, with a finger on the trigger, ready for both battle and sacrifice," he said. The Iranian commander-in-chief also vowed to continue defending the country's "independence, territorial integrity and security on land, in the air and at sea."

On the occasion of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Army Day, Supreme Leader Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei also predicted Tehran's enemies would be defeated by the country's naval forces.
