At the Kirovske military airfield in temporarily occupied Crimea, the AFU Unmanned Systems Forces together with the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's GSD destroyed four aircraft, the Orion heavy UAV base, an An-72P airplane and a Sword radar station. This was reported in Telegram by the commander of the AFU Unmanned Systems Force Robert Brovdi ("Madyar").
He said that on the night of April 2, the "birds" of the 1st Separate SBS Center and the 9th Department of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry paid a "courtesy visit" to Russian facilities - the base and pre-flight training point for the newest and most expensive Orion strike and reconnaissance UAVs.
The commander noted that Orion is capable of staying in the air for up to 24 hours at a depth of 250-300 kilometers, conducting reconnaissance and carrying up to 250 kilograms of weapons (missiles or bombs) at an altitude of up to 7.5 kilometers.
"This den has been completely destroyed at Kirovske airfield near the village of Krasnoselske, Crimea. The destruction of 4 units of Orion UAVs was confirmed. An-72P transport aircraft and a Soviet mobile two-coordinate P-37 "Sword" round-view radar station were also detected and destroyed there," Brovdi emphasized.
He said that the targets were hit by means of medium strike FP-2 with a 60-100 kg warhead.
