Kazakhstan's Oil Supplies To Europe Will Bypass Druzhba

Kazakhstan oil will be directed to FRG from the beginning of May.

Kazakh oil supplies to Germany will bypass the Druzhba pipeline from May 1, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters.

"From May 1, indeed, the volume of Kazakh oil supplies, which via Druzhba used to go to Germany, will be directed to other logistical directions, to free ones. This is due to the technical capabilities to date," he said (quoted by TASS).

The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan earlier reported receiving unofficial information about the impossibility of oil transit through the Druzhba pipeline in May. Kazakhstan at the same time does not plan to reduce oil production, but the volumes will be redistributed. "It is not critical for us that [perhaps] this oil will remain somewhere and will not leave by other routes. This is only one of the routes," Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar said.

Kazakhstan's oil delivered via Druzhba covers 20-30% of the needs of the refinery in Germany's Schwedt. In 2025, 2.1 million tons of raw materials were shipped along the route, and plans for 2026 were 3 million tons. The volume of annual exports is 80 million tons.
