US President Donald Trump has responded harshly to Prince Harry's call to do more for Ukraine, saying he speaks more on behalf of the UK than the prince himself.

It was reported by Sky News.

What Trump was asked

A reporter asked the president if he thought it was appropriate that Prince Harry was urging the U.S. to do more to end the war in Ukraine - and this on the eve of King Charles' visit to Washington.

What Trump answered

"Prince Harry doesn't speak for the U.K., that's for sure. I think I speak for the UK more than I speak for Prince Harry. But I really appreciate his advice. Wonderful advice," Trump said.

Before doing so, he asked reporters about the prince and his wife and asked a reporter to send them greetings.

About meeting with Charles

After his comment about Harry, Trump switched to his upcoming meeting with the British monarch.

"King Charles is coming to visit us, he's a friend of mine. We're really looking forward to it," he said.

Trump also boasted about the new ballroom at the White House where the dinner will be held. He said Britain has wanted a new hall for 150 years - and now will get "the best in the world."
