On Friday, April 24, Poland's F-16 fighter jets intercepted and escorted two Russian Su-30 warplanes flying over the Baltic Sea.
The Polish Armed Forces Operational Command said.
It is noted that the Russian aircraft flew in international airspace without a filed flight plan and with transponders turned off. No violation of Polish airspace was recorded.
The agency added: such interceptions are an element of the airspace security system and are aimed at identifying objects that do not comply with international aviation procedures. These actions allow for a constant assessment of the situation and maintain safety in the airspace.
