It became known when the Ukrainian long-range ballistics will be ready.
Ukrainian military-industrial company FirePoint continues work on the FP-9 ballistic missile. It is expected to have a range of 850 kilometers and a warhead weight of 800 kg. The first launches should take place as early as mid-2026.
About this Ukrainian development told Denis Shtilerman, chief designer and co-owner of Fire Point. In interview with Dmitry Gordon, he said that Ukraine will have a full cycle of production of such missiles.
Only one part needed for the FP-9 is foreign. Everything else is manufactured locally.
How much the FP-9 will cost
Stilerman said that up to 500 thousand dollars tentatively costs already developed less powerful version - FP-7. It can cover a distance of 300 kilometers and has a warhead of up to 250 kilograms.
"Nine [FP-9] - I don't know, we'll see. Now we will make it, launch it, understand, because it was smooth on paper, but we forgot about the ravines. Now we have everything ready on the nine, except for the engine. The engine is now burned, we will see, pricing will be clear," the chief designer said.
Firing at military targets in Russia
The FirePoint owner noted that theoretically the FP-9 should reach Moscow. In his opinion, strikes against the enemy should be focused on the capital of the aggressor state.
"Russia is a monocentric country. It is in Ukraine, in some small town there can be a world-class machine-tool industry. There is no such thing in Russia. They have everything concentrated in Moscow. What happens in Belgorod, Kaluga, Ryazan, Tula, in no way affects the mood in Russia," says Shtilerman.
"My opinion as an ordinary person: the Lubyanka [FSB] should be wiped off the face of the earth. There are a huge number of facilities there - the General Staff, the Defense Ministry, the Moscow oil refinery, Almaz-Antey, [defense enterprises] Khrunichev, Zvezda, Strela," Shtilerman added.
