German Foreign Minister: Ukraine's Victory Over Russia Is In NATO's Common Interest

The Alliance remains the world's most powerful defense alliance.
NATO has a common interest in Ukraine winning the war against Russia, while the Alliance itself remains the most powerful defense alliance in the world.
This was stated by German Foreign Minister Johann Wadeful, RBC-Ukraine reported, citing his interview with WAZ.
According to the publication, the German minister said that the world has become much more dangerous, which requires even greater cohesion from allies.
He emphasized that despite political statements, the United States continues to provide substantial support that allows Ukraine to effectively counter aggression.
Germany has now become Ukraine's key partner in Europe.
- President Zelensky confirmed this to me during my visit to Ukraine. I assured him that Germany will remain the strongest donor," Wadeful emphasized.
The German Foreign Minister acknowledged that discussions about a possible U.S. withdrawal from NATO are worrisome because the Alliance is critical to the security of all its members.
- We have a common interest in Ukraine winning a military confrontation with Russia. We should not question all this, but build on our successes," the minister said.
He also recalled the recent expansion of the bloc to include Sweden and Finland, as well as the willingness of member states to invest 5 percent of GDP in their own defense capabilities.
