Does the head of the Kremlin want to hold a parade?
President Vladimir Zelensky has instructed Ukraine's representatives in the United States to contact President Donald Trump's team and find out the details of the Russian proposal for a ceasefire on May 9. He wrote about it in social networks on Thursday, April 30.
"Let's find out what exactly we are talking about: a few hours of security for the parade in Moscow or something more. Our proposal is a long-term ceasefire, guaranteeing reliable security for people and long-term peace," Zelensky said.
He added that Ukraine seeks peace and is ready to work for it "in any worthy" format.
On April 29, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation with Donald Trump and said Moscow was "ready" for a short-term ceasefire during Russia's "Victory Day" on May 9.
