New details of the attack have emerged.

On the night of April 4, powerful explosions erupted in the Russian city of Togliatti. There, Ukrainian drones attacked the chemical plant "Togliattikauchuk".

An-196 "Lyuty" drones hit the plant, according to preliminary information. This is reported by the OSINT community CyberBoroshno.

The consequences of the strikes

At the time of the attack, local residents videotaped explosions on the territory of the plant. Numerous footage online led to the conclusion that multiple drones had flown to the chemical plant.

One of the UAV targets at the plant was the D-12 facility with 2,300 cubic meters of liquefied product tanks, which is equipped with a collapse and lightning rods for safety.

The drones also hit shop D-1 with tanks for liquefied goods and liquids, from which isobutane is delivered to the plant for processing at BK-2.

In addition, drones attacked isobutane-isobutylene production units (BK-2, BK-3, BK-4), a key component of butyl rubber.

About 10 drones have flown into the plant according to various reports, so it is highly likely that there were more hits than indicated. The OSINT community compiled a list of targets hit by objects whose active burning was caught on camera.

What is known about the enterprise

The Togliattikauchuk enterprise is one of the largest petrochemical plants in Russia. Although it is positioned as a civilian production, its products are critical for the functioning of the military-industrial complex and supplying the army.

The role of the enterprise in the current environment has significantly increased in several ways. "Togliattikauchuk" provides technological independence of the Russian Federation from supplies of foreign elastomers. Special grades of rubber are used in aircraft and shipbuilding, where materials resistant to extreme temperatures and aggressive environments are required.

The enterprise produces high-octane additives to gasoline. This is critical for the logistics of Putin's army, as it makes it possible to produce high-quality fuel for army vehicles in large volumes.

The Togliattisintez industrial park has been created on the basis of the plant to house related industries, some of which can fulfill direct defense orders or produce dual-use components.
