Gomel Region Will Spend Millions Of Dollars On Land Reclamation

More than Br13.6 million (over $4.6 million) will be spent on land reclamation and irrigation (artificial soil moistening) in 2026 in Homel voblast. This was learned "Flagstaff" from the announced tenders.

The state association "Gomeleliovodkhoz" announced a purchase for such an amount. The measures include repair and maintenance works, including fish ponds and water management facilities, including the work of pumping stations to fill water reservoirs and ponds, keeping state records of reclamation systems and separately located hydraulic structures, inventory of reclamation systems and separately located hydraulic structures in the districts of Gomel region.

The largest amount will be spent on measures in Zhitkovichi district - more than 2.2 million rubles. The smallest - in Chechersk district (almost Br223 thousand).

The procurement documentation states that these activities are carried out within the framework of the subprogram "Land Reclamation" of the State Program "Agricultural Complex of the Future" for 2026-2030 and are financed from the regional budget. The specified amounts are for works from April to the end of 2026.

It was officially reported earlier that the goal of the State Program "AIC of the Future", which includes 10 subprograms, is to build a "highly productive agro-industrial complex" in the country. The industrial production index is to be raised by 115% over the five-year period, and labor productivity in terms of gross added value of agricultural organizations by 130% in 2030 by 2025.
