In Belarus, a number of doctors and teachers have the opportunity to retire five years earlier than others, myfin.by.

So, in Belarus, some categories of pedagogical and medical workers have the right to retire with a reduction of the generally established retirement age by five years. Men have such a right if they have at least 30 years of special work experience, of which at least 15 years must have been worked before January 1, 2009. Women need at least 25 years of special length of service, including at least 12.5 years before January 1, 2009.

In the special length of service counts the work that provides for the list approved by the Council of Ministers (№ 724 of December 1, 1992). This work must be performed by the employee during full-time work.

At the same time, the period of women on childcare leave until the child reaches the age of 1.5 years, which took place before January 1, 2000, will be counted in the special length of service, if this period was preceded by work entitling the employee to a long-service pension.

It is noted that if a person was awarded a pension for length of service, then in this case a recalculation is made taking into account the length of service worked after its appointment, but provided that he did not receive a pension for this period.
