The Ukrainian Foreign Minister has assessed the key decision on the creation of a special tribunal.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga said in Chisinau, where a key decision on the creation of a special tribunal for Putin was made the day before, that the tribunal would help the Russian leader realize his dream and make history.
This is according to a publication by Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Georgiy Tykhoy for European Pravda.
Tikhy described how on Friday, in the presence of all Council of Europe member states in Chisinau, Council of Europe Secretary General Alain Berset handed Sibiga a legal confirmation of the 36 states and the European Union joining the agreement creating a steering committee of the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine.
Sibiga, for his part, said the moral foundation of Europe and peace will be restored only when the crime of aggression against Ukraine is punished.
"This is not a question of the past. It is a question of the future. It is a question of restoring the common space of truth, justice and trust. It is also a question of dignity. Putin has always wanted to make history. And this tribunal will help him in this... Putin, Shoigu, Gerasimov, Bortnikov, Zolotov, Medvedev, Patrushev, Lukashenko and others - today they all got their ticket to The Hague," Sibiga said.
He also emphasized that over the past centuries Ukraine has experienced too many atrocities, oppression, occupations, world wars, genocides, Stalinist repressions, Chernobyl and other crimes. "And we have never - I emphasize, never - seen real justice. The Special Tribunal will break this vicious circle. For every soul killed. For every world destroyed. For every broken fate," the Ukrainian Foreign Minister emphasized.
