To what extent the number of livestock and poultry in Belarusian farms has decreased.

Belstat published data on agricultural production in January-April 2026. Thanks to these figures, one can learn about the scale of the loss of livestock and poultry since the beginning of this year.

So, as of May 1, 2026, there were 3.9 million heads of cattle in agricultural organizations, including 1.3 million cows. The number of pigs amounted to 2 million heads, poultry - 52 million heads.

And now let's compare the latest statistics with the data for January 1 this year: there were 4 million heads of cattle, 2.2 million heads of pigs, 54.5 million heads of poultry in farms of all categories.

The number of cows is not specified in this report of the National Statistics Committee. It can be found in the data for January-March - 1.4 million heads.

So, since the beginning of the year, the loss of the total number of cows amounted to 100 thousand heads. If we believe the statistics, this reduction occurred during April, writes "Salidarnasts".

The number of pigs decreased by 200 thousand heads, poultry - by a record 2.5 million heads.

If you add it up, the figures cannot but be impressive, as we are talking about several million heads of poultry and livestock.

But the news that livestock decline occurred even in the Potemkin collective farm in Lukashenko's small homeland, favored by the attention of the authorities and the state budget, make these figures natural.
