China has contributed to bringing peace in Ukraine closer, acting by its own methods. This was stated by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at a briefing.

Commenting on the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Si Jinping, the Chinese foreign minister said that one of the topics of the talks was the situation around Ukraine.

According to Wang Yi, both China and the United States are interested in an early cessation of hostilities and have already taken steps to promote the peace process, although the two countries have different approaches.

He emphasized that such a complex crisis cannot be resolved quickly, and peace talks require time and consistent diplomatic work.

The minister also noted that Beijing and Washington intend to continue to maintain contacts and play a constructive role in finding a political solution to the conflict.
