The massive attack came in several waves.

Occupied Crimea met the night of Sunday, May 17, with explosions and gunfire almost all over the peninsula. The air attack, which began late Saturday night, came in several waves. During this attack, the lights in Sevastopol, Balaklava and Fiolent disappeared, writes OBOZ.UA.

Local "authorities" cautiously report about allegedly two dozen downed Ukrainian UAVs and urge not to believe the videos that are rapidly spread by Crimeans - they say they are "fake throw-ins." In turn, eyewitnesses claim that the peninsula was attacked by both UAVs and missiles.

According to Crimean Osint communities, the first wave of air attack reached Crimea at 23 hours on May 16, and three such waves have already hit the peninsula.

Witnesses report that at the Kacha airfield and in the village of Peschanoye, "anti-aircraft guns and machine guns were firing, searchlights were shining into the sky" the entire time. The airfield's Pantsir air defense system fired several times - note that this air defense system is only activated to repel missile attacks.

The Belbek airfield also heard explosions. They complained about the "loud work of air defense" in Vilino, told about the "arrival" at Cape Fiolent in Sevastopol, the firing of air defense in Beregovo and Novofedorovka.

And at the airfield "Saki" in Novofedorovka, the continuous firing continues until now. "In Inkerman is very cheerful and loud," Crimean publics tell.

At around midnight it became known that "Balaklava joined the movement," and Sevastopol and Fiolent were hit by a second wave of shooting and explosions.

At 1 a.m., power supply in Sevastopol, Fiolent and Balaklava first "flickered" and then disappeared altogether. It is reported that there were "arrivals" in the area of Balaklava TPP. And at two o'clock in the morning there were explosions in the village of Chernomorskoye.
