Latvian Foreign Minister Subtly Trolls Russians

Ukraine has seized the initiative.

Acting Latvian Foreign Minister Braze Baiba said that the pace of Russian troops' advance in Ukraine is so low that even the comparison with a "snail's pace" is an exaggeration. This was reported by "European Pravda" with reference to the Latvian Foreign Ministry.

She made her statement at the Lennart Meri Conference security conference in Estonia, where the course of the Russian-Ukrainian war, sanctions pressure on Russia and support for Ukraine were discussed.

The Latvian Foreign Minister said that the statement about a "snail's pace" of advancement is incorrect, since even a snail could cover a much greater distance in that time than Russian troops have since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

She also noted that, in her assessment, Ukraine has seized the initiative on the front, and called for using this moment to strengthen military and political support for Kiev.
