The Chechen Akhmat unit of the Russian Armed Forces suffered one of the most serious losses of the war the other day. As a result of a missile strike by the Ukrainian Defense Forces, at least 60 "Kadyrovtsy" farewelled their lives.

This was reported on May 18 by the Chechen opposition channel NIYSO, citing an informed source.

"Over the past two days, one of the Russian Akhmat units has suffered major losses. The reason was a missile strike on a facility used as a deployment site," the resource said.

He specified that at least 60 military personnel were eliminated, a large number of military personnel were wounded.

Local publicks in Chechnya have been flooded with numerous mourning messages. But the republic's head Ramzan Kadyrov has remained silent.

"Relatives are in a panic and are asking everyone to pray. Not a word about the horror happening on ChGTRK (Chechen state TV channel - ed.)," NIYSO noted.

The youngest Akhmat military officer eliminated in this strike was only 18 years old. NIYSO claims he had been at the front for less than one week.
