Kiev responds to provocations.
The Security Service of Ukraine together with the Defense Forces has launched large-scale enhanced security measures in five northern regions of the country bordering Russia and Belarus. This was reported in the SBU on May 21.
The matter concerns Chernihiv, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Volyn and Rivne regions. Large-scale counterintelligence and counter-sabotage measures aimed at preventing possible threats are being carried out there.
The security service emphasized that the operation was unprecedented in terms of the number of forces and equipment involved. According to the SBU, such measures should become a deterrent in case of possible aggressive actions on the part of Russia or Belarus.
The coordination is carried out by the Anti-Terrorist Center under the SBU. The operation also involves units of the National Police, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard and the State Border Guard Service.
The main task of the enhanced measures is to prevent the penetration of sabotage groups into the border areas, to prevent terrorist manifestations, intelligence activities and other possible threats to security.
Residents have been warned about enhanced checks in the areas where the events will be held. There may be temporary traffic restrictions on certain streets, document checks, car inspections, as well as inspection of some premises.
We would like to note that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky asked to prepare a response to the actions of the Lukashenko regime.
