  • 21.05.2026, 17:18

Second time in two days.

An air alert was declared in Lithuania's Utena district on Thursday, Delfi.lt reported.

In messages sent to residents' cell phones, the Lithuanian military urged the population to immediately go to a shelter or other safe place. They also ask to take care of their loved ones and wait for further recommendations.

The military said that the reason for the air alert was an object with signs of a drone detected by radar.

NATO fighter jets are in the air and will head to the intended target.

We recall that in the morning of May 20, an air alert was declared in the eastern part of Lithuania because of a drone detected near the Lithuanian-Belarusian border. Vilnius residents were asked to descend into shelters, and authorities evacuated students and the country's top officials. The work of Vilnius airport and the capital's public transportation was halted.
