After Xi Jinping's meeting with Trump.
Taiwan has claimed a large-scale deployment of Chinese vessels in the waters around the island and near the first island chain following the summit between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Si Jinping in Beijing.
Taiwan's National Security Council Secretary General Joseph Wu said this on his X.
"Our intelligence shows that the PRC has deployed more than 100 vessels around the first island chain in the past few days, shortly after the Beijing summit," he wrote.
Wu accused Beijing of trying to change the balance of power in the region and destabilize the situation. The secretary-general attached a graphic to the publication showing the deployment of Chinese vessels in the South China Sea, East China Sea, and near Taiwan and the Philippines.
Fox News focuses on the fact that Wu alerted the international community to the deployment of said ships just over a week after Trump left Beijing and just days after Acting U.S. Secretary of the Navy Hung Cao told U.S. lawmakers to temporarily suspend arms shipments to Taiwan.
