Alexander Milinkevich Needs Help

The wife of the politician appealed to the Belarusians.
Former presidential candidate in the 2006 election Alexander Milinkevich needs help. The politician's wife Inna Kuley addressed to the Belarusians:
"Dear friends.
We ask for your support for Alexander Milinkevich.
Five months ago, on November 24, Alexander came to the hospital for a planned operation by his own decision. The reason was a CT scan that showed the right cervical artery was 80 percent occluded by a blood clot. Doctors strongly advised not to postpone the operation, because at any moment the clot could break off - with fatal consequences. And Alexander made this difficult decision, trusting the specialists.
November 25, the operation was performed. But its consequences were not as we all hoped. Alexander suffered brain edema. For three weeks Alexander was in intensive care - between life and death. With God's help and thanks to your prayers he survived.
Then began long months of fighting infections, which, unfortunately, hospitals are full of and which are especially dangerous for people with weakened immune system. Pneumonia, intestinal infection, pneumonia again... Not everyone could withstand such an attack, but Alexander did. There were months of treatment: first in the department of neurology, then in rehabilitation, after - in a specialized treatment and rehabilitation center.
The left side of the brain, responsible for intelligence, speech and memory, was not affected.
The right side - the one responsible for movement - was damaged: the left arm does not work, legs do not obey well. For an active, mobile, full of energy man, as Alexander has always been, to realize that today he is a bedridden patient is a very hard test. But my husband is an extremely strong man of spirit. And this spirit is supported by each of you: those who send words of support, motivational videos, ask about his health, congratulate him on holidays, just remember about us. From the bottom of my heart I thank and bow low to everyone who cares about Alexander's fate, who supports us with words, prayers, help and deeds.
Unfortunately, Alexander remains a carrier of pathogenic bacteria, which can activate at any moment. That's why he can't go home yet - he needs constant medical supervision and intensive rehabilitation. All this costs money. Like many of you, we cannot return to our homeland. Our house in Bershty has been sealed after searches, a criminal case has been opened. We receive neither Belarusian nor Polish pensions and live only on what we can earn ourselves. When we were healthy and worked together, we had enough for a decent life. Now everything has changed.
Housing rent, payment for rehabilitation center, medicines, transportation costs to get to my husband's hospital every day - all this is beyond our capabilities. Therefore, I appeal to you, friends, with a request for help. I really believe in the power of our solidarity, in the power of mutual help, in human kindness.
I believe that if God has kept Alexander alive, then we must fight for her further.
And I sincerely believe that the holiday is still ahead of us".
