US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has conveyed to President Donald Trump a message from Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin, which he heard during a dialog with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said this, RBC-Ukraine reported, citing journalist Alex Raufogle on the X network.

"Rubio just told reporters that Lavrov passed on a message from Putin intended for Trump, which Rubio said he passed on," the journalist wrote.

He said the US secretary of state also downplayed speculation that Russia had specifically urged Washington to withdraw embassy personnel from Kiev as Moscow announced strikes.

"The danger of all these wars, as they go on and on and on, is that they always have the threat of escalation," Rubio said.
