A Second 'Nuttall' Fell To The Occupiers: ISW Reveals Details

The analysts found out some interesting circumstances.

Russia may have launched not one but two Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missiles on the night of May 24. One of them malfunctioned and landed on the occupied Donetsk region.

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reports.

What the analysts found out

The ISW noted that Ukrainian OSINT sources on May 25 reported video that may indicate the launch of a second Oreshnik missile during the attack on the night of May 24.

The footage allegedly shows the fall of six submunitions. A Ukrainian OSINT source suggested that the missile could have hit Russian positions near occupied Avdeevka or Yasinovataya - about 40 kilometers from the front line.

If these data are confirmed, it would mean that one in four Oreshniks used by the Russian army in the war against Ukraine went out of service.

How much the attack cost

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry's news agency ArmiaInform estimated that Russia's combined strike on May 23-24 cost about $361 million, of which about $50 million is attributed to a single Oreshnik missile.

If the launch of a second missile is confirmed, the total cost of the attack would rise to about $411 million.
