CPD: China Distances Itself From The Russian Federation

The Foreign Ministry unexpectedly commented on Beijing's stance on Moscow's plans.

Aggressor country Russia is threatening Ukraine with systemic strikes on targets in Kiev. But it seems that this idea of the Kremlin is not supported by Moscow's powerful partner - Beijing.

According to "Ukrinform", Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said that China's position on the "Ukrainian crisis" is consistent and clear, so Beijing calls for dialog and negotiations to resolve the war.

She also called on "all sides to refrain from intensifying hostilities."

The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council Andrey Kovalenko commented on this statement by the Chinese representative. According to him, Beijing is thus distancing itself from Russian threats to strike Kiev and Moscow's aggressive rhetoric, which began just after Putin's visit.

"Russia is now seeking to force Ukraine to make concessions in negotiations through terror, but this is naive, it will not happen, although Putin seems to believe it. Russia must stop the war immediately, and then this will allow Russia to avoid the consequences that Putin is not telling Russians about so far," he added.
