The Ukrainian president met with one of the opposition leaders.

Co-chair of the European Solidarity faction Iryna Gerashchenko said that party leader Peter Poroshenko and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky discussed "issues of war and peace" and interaction between the branches of government during their meeting on May 26. Gerashchenko said this on air of the Kyiv TV channel, writes New Voice.

She said the conversation lasted almost two hours - the longest of all meetings between the president and parliamentary leaders.

"It was about issues of war and peace, about issues of interaction between the branches of government... We welcome the beginning of this dialog," Gerashchenko said.

Determined details of this dialog, which, according to the MP, "was not simple, given the difficult relationship between Poroshenko and Zelensky," remain closed.
