National Teams Of Belarus Will Play At The World Hockey Championship

Several national teams of Belarus will be able to play at the World Hockey Championships in the season-2026/2027. This decision was taken by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), reported in the Ice Hockey Federation of Belarus.

The program of the world championships next season includes men's junior team U-18, women's junior team and women's national team of Belarus. The question of the return of the men's national team is still open.

Belarus U-18 hockey players will play in the same group with the national teams of Slovakia, Czech Republic, Canada and Finland. The tournament will be held in the U.S. city of Duluth from April 22 to May 2.

The head of the Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation Alexander Bogdanovich called the IIHF's decision "an important and positive step for Belarusian ice hockey."

Belarusian national teams were suspended from international competition in 2022 after Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine began.
